A multicultural campus
152 students from 28 countries are starting their adventure at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń in the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year under the Erasmus+ programme. The Department for International Partnerships and Educational Mobility has organised an Orientation Week for them.
New Authorities for the new term
Prof. dr habil. Andrzej Tretyn, Rector-elect handed in the appointments to the NCU Vice-Rectors for the term 2024-2028.

Evaluating classes
On January 29, questionnaires for evaluating classes conducted in the winter semester were opened in the USOS system. It only takes a few minutes to fill out the questionnaire.
Inauguration of the academic year
The official inauguration of the 2023/2024 academic year will begin on 2 October at 11:00 am in the NCU Aula. The event will be broadcast on the NCU TV website.
A Call for Reviving a Shared European Identity
At the September meeting of the YUFE Strategic Council in Nicosia, Cyprus, those present at the gathering signed a joint declaration calling for the revival of a shared European identity. On behalf of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, the document was signed by prof. dr habil. Przemysław Nehring, Vice-Rector for Education and Executive Director of the YUFE at the NCU.
Toruń Moves - Let’s Integrate!
The Amicus Foundation in cooperation with the Copernican Integration Centre in Toruń offers you the possibility to work as a volunteer in the Toruń Moves - Let's Integrate! Programme, created as a part of the YUFE Community Volunteering Programme, leading to the YUFE Civic Star award.
New partner at YUFE
The Young Universities for the Future of Europe (YUFE) Alliance will integrate Sorbonne Nouvelle University (Paris, France) as a full partner. Sorbonne Nouvelle University will bring complementary strengths towards implementing the YUFE Vision 2030.
The festival in a nutshell
The 21st Toruń Science and Arts Festival is fast approaching. The programme for this year's edition, whose theme is "Five Centuries after Copernicus", will include about 100 events. The event will last from 22 to 24 April.
Free courses at European universities
The next call for applications for the open programme offered by Young Universities For the Future of Europe (YUFE) starts today. As part of the YUFE Student Journey, you can attend classes offered online or travel to a partner university.
World Copernicus Congress launched
On February 19th, exactly on the 550th anniversary of Nicolaus Copernicus' birth, the World Copernican Congress was inaugurated at the Nicolaus Copernicus University. This is the most important highlight of the Year of Copernicus, which our University is organizing jointly with Jagiellonian University, the University of Warmia and Mazury and the Institute of the History of Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
University Day 2023
On February 19th, the birthday of its patron, the Nicolaus Copernicus University celebrates its University Day. On that day, the inauguration of the World Copernican Congress will take place. A day later, during university ceremony Prof. Jan Reedijk will receive an honorary doctorate from our university, state and university awards will also be presented, as well as diplomas for postdoctoral and doctoral candidates.
Upcoming World Copernican Congress
The World Copernican Congress, organised to mark the 550th anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus, will begin on February 19th with a ceremony in the NCU Aula.
ABC of studying in Toruń
Emergency numbers, addresses of libraries, a list of pharmacies, instructions on how to get a PESEL number - all this information can be found by foreign students in a special "Essential Infromation for International Student" compiled by Oliwia Kowalczyk, a student at the Institute of Educational Sciences.
We are entering the Copernican Year
The 550th anniversary of its patron's birth will be celebrated by the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń with the World Copernican Congress.
In the research university network
Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun is the only Polish university to join the Young European Research Universities Network (YERUN) association and, together with 22 other universities, will shape European policies on research, innovation and education.
Language learning at the Center
On January 1, 2023, NCU's Practical Foreign Language Teaching Unit (Studium Praktycznej Nauki Języków Obcych) was transformed into the University Center for Foreign Languages (Uniwersyteckie Centrum Języków Obcych) – 'he new name much better reflects the profile of our unit's activities, says Adam Czajkowski, director of UCFL.
"Human Rights and a Just Society" symposium
It is our pleasure to inform you that the Faculty of Political Science and Security Studies co-organizes, together with John Felice Rome Center, Loyola University Chicago, the 14th edition of "Human Rights and Just Society" symposium. Studies without borders
Students at the Toruń University can simultaneously study in Antwerp, Rijeka, Madrid and even Essex, thanks to the NCU's membership in the Young Univeristies for the Future of Europe alliance. Details of the offer will be available at YUFE Open Days and information meetings.
YUFE Minors
Until October 15, students can apply for the YUFE MINORS program, which offers participation in a special block of subjects at the European universities that make up the YUFE consortium.

Start of admissions for international students
Admission to the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń for international candidates began on 20th April. This year applicants can choose from among 100 courses taught in Polish and 17 taught in English.
